EPEEN Meter, Neural Interfaces, and lots of Walruses

I just visited the armory, and found out my character turned into a Tuskar
Walruses like tuna, good thing that both professions of all players are now fishing. If you check your achievements feed, everybody can now see that you ninja'd all your items and cheesed your achievements.
Not only that, but Blizzard presented the introduction of a long-awaited feature.
The new EPEEN (Equipment Potency EquivalencE Number) feature will render ilvl and Gearscore checks obsolete.
Also visit the Blizzard Store to order the new Battle.Net Neural Interface. Not only will you be able to steer your char with your brain waves, the immersion will be total, and you get a new ingame pet with it!
Quote:
Once this neural link is formed, do not attempt to remove the Battle.net Neural Interface for any reason. Blizzard Entertainment is not liable for any temporary or permanent loss of brain function as a result of improper use of the Battle.net Neural Interface.
[...]
Tough and durable - Lasts for months, and replacement is theoretically possible.
Comes in pink, Gray and Black, but is already sold out, despite the price of $14'999.-
Good thing I preordered mine last week
If you can' afford the $15k neural interface, you may instead want to visit the Diablo III shop instead and pimp your car's GPS with the Deckard Cain GPS Voice Pack. Or but a Diablo III X-Treme Gamer Blanket or Body Pillow.
New Armory Features

I must say I really like the new look of the armory, and the new features are very nice:
- 3d character view
The armory now includes a 3d character viewer, with saveable settings for the default pose and position. This 3d viewer can also be embedded into other web pages, the HTML snippet to do so is provided by the viewer. The embedded viewer has a static size of 588x321 pixels, which is rather large. What's missing is in my opinion a way to access the still shot of your model as a static image, that yould have been really neat. - Character activity feed
Your character's activity (boss kills, achievments (all or by category), achievment criteria for partially completed achievments, and received loot, filtered by item level and quality) can now be tracked over and Atom feed. You can track up to 5 characters in the same feed, which is nice for monitoring your alts.
I can foresee a whole new generation of guild management tools being built, which help tracking player's activity or just individual aspects such as the loot they get.
Now that we can track a character, I predict that Blizzard is already working on feeds that allow monitoring guild events and progress (for Cataclysm).
In the meantime, you can at least track which members joined or left your guild using the RSS feed on WowProgress.com. As with other stuff that's tracked with crawling the armory XMLs, the information is only available with a delay of at least several hours (read this, Blizzard? we need more direct armory feeds!).

If you haven't got a newsreader yet, I can recommend you the Idx NewsReader I programmed. It's based on Java/Swing and runs platform independently (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Unix, whatever). You can download it from here.
